Well I tried my hand at a snowflake macro...at least I know I have at least two more months of snow to work on this skill. It was much harder to do than I thought. Off to read up on snowflake tips!
Looks like you did pretty good to me! I tried and our snow came down in little balls, almost ice. I couldn't isolate any actual snowflakes, just arms of the snowflake here and there. :( I'm hoping I get another chance this year! The only tips I found were to catch the snowflakes as they fall on a blanket that had been outside long enough not to melt the snowflakes. Then take the blanket somewhere that you can photograph them and take your time. Tripod. Manual focusing. I think that is about all I read, but then, I didn't get any good shots, you did! What are your tips?
I read try catching them on an ice pack so I think I might try this tomorrow, and your blanket idea. I took this one outside so maybe inside would be better. I still don't know how they get them so close of just one flake! Good luck! I love a new project :)
